Giovanni Valentino DiRisio was born on June 3rd, 2341 in Napoli, Italy to Commander Aberto DiRisio and Arianna DiRisio he was their only child. Giovanni was raised in Napoli; his mother was a successful musician and artist while his father worked at Starfleet Command in the Strategic Operations Department. The home Giovanni grew up in was perched on cliff over looking the beautiful clear blue sea, for most of his life he was home schooled often leaving his home to explore the wildlife, Giovanni always wanted to learn more. Giovanni enjoyed playing sports he loved to swim and run track, he also loved to play soccer and football. When Giovanni was twelve years old he visited Starfleet Command, it was there he knew what kind of life he wanted to lead he wanted to become a Starfleet Officer.
When Giovanni was fourteen he finally attended a school, he become a student of the Leonardo Da Vinci Academy in Rome Italy. Giovanni enjoyed the arts he loved to paint and act in school he became more interested in histories greatest strategists; he wished to follow after his father’s career. In his junior year at the Academy he met a young beautiful girl by the name of Cecilia he met it his mission to go on a date with the girls, he eventually succeeded. After that date continued to see each other, in his senior year Giovanni applied for Starfleet Academy. On January 10th, 2358 he took his entrance exam his reviewer Commander Anna Quinn noted that Giovanni would some day make a fine first officer for someone. Giovanni was accepted into the academy but his girl friend went on to medical school.
On August 3rd, 2358 Giovanni began his training at Starfleet Academy he already had an idea on the career he wanted to have, he followed the path of his father and trained to become a Strategic Operations officer. He trained in five different fields; diplomacy, tactical security, Law Enforcement (JAG), communications, and science, he also took remedial medical studies. Aside from his training Giovanni was apart of the academies track and swim team, Giovanni often spent his time training for meets and studying for his classes he didn’t have much time for a social life, he spent most of his free time with Cecilia. On September 6th, 2362 Giovanni graduated from Starfleet academy. Before he was assigned to a ship Giovanni was stationed on Starbase Xavier.
On September 30th, 2362 Giovanni started his career aboard the USS Lincoln an aging Miranda Refit class vessel, serving as the ships deputy science chief. On November 12, 2362 while the Lincoln was exploring the Badlands a Cardassian Galor class ship hiding attacked the Lincoln. The two ships fought hard matching each other’s movies, during the epic battle the Chief Tactical/Security officer was killed; Giovanni took the console in his place. Things were looking dire for the Lincoln they would have been captured if it had not been for Giovanni thinking of using the chaos of the badlands to their advantage. Giovanni thought of using the ion storms as a weapon using the impulse engines to ion storms towards the Cardassian ship, luckily it was successful and the Lincoln could return to Federation space.
After the battle the Lincoln docked with Starbase Gamma for repairs, Captain Gregor Calloway the commanding officer of the Lincoln made Giovanni the Chief Tactical/Security Officer of the USS Lincoln. After repair and refit was completed, the Lincoln was sent to the Gorn neutral zone for a two-year boarder patrol mission. Giovanni expected the mission to be uneventful but he was proved wrong the Gorn had mixed reactions to the Federation’s presence near their space. Some Gorn vessels were friendly, on occasion Giovanni acted as a diplomat, there were times where the Lincoln had to fight Gorn vessels. After two years the Lincoln was sent back to Earth, the crew received some much needed shore leave, on May 15th. 2364 he and his long time girlfriend Cecilia were married in Napoli, Italy. After becoming wedded Giovanni and Cecilia were both assigned to Starbase Washington.
Aboard Starbase Washington Giovanni served as the Chief Security/Tactical Officer while Cecilia served as a medical officer aboard the Station. Shortly after celebrating his twenty-fifth birthday his wife gave birth to their first child, a boy whom they named Aberto DiRisio after Giovanni’s father. In 2366 his wife gave birth to there second child another boy they named him Emmanuele DiRisio, shortly after that both Giovanni and Cecilia were reassigned to Kovar Colony, a beautiful m class planet that was only 2 light-years from Starbase Washington. On the colony Giovanni helped to train the civilian police force as well as help the planetary defences. Giovanni and his wife Cecilia happily lived together and raise their children.
In 2371 Giovanni who was now thirty became the Deputy Chief of Security on Kovar colony his wife became chief physician of the colony. In 2373 when the Dominion War came into full swing Kovar Colony was captured by Dominion troops, every was effected by the cruelty of the Cardassian administrator stationed there. Giovanni and a handful of other colonists were tired of the Cardassians and the Jem’Hadar they began to fight back. Giovanni helped organizing the resistance, the colonists used Guerrilla warfare to aid them in their plot to get rid of the Dominion forces there, for months a silent battle was fought colonists sabotaged the technology on the planet. On Stardate 50918.5 the silent fighting ended and the colonists stopped all communication from leaving the planet, they finally fought.
After nearly a month of weapons fire on January 1st, it was all over a task force of Klingon vessels helped to free the colonists. Giovanni and his family returned to San Francisco, Earth to speak with Starfleet Admiralty about their ordeal on Kovar colony, after three days of meetings Giovanni was offered a position at Starfleet Command. Giovanni finally lived up to his own expectations he served under his father, who was the Chief of Starfleet Strategic Operations, Giovanni worked as a Tactical Advisor in the Strategic Ops Department. On May 10th, 2374 Giovanni was sent to Starbase Valhalla near the front lines of the war, helped to plan defences for the sector the Starbase protected. With then end of the Dominion War in 2375 Giovanni was sent back to Earth to help with the rebuild after the attack from Breen ships.
On July 10th, 2376 Giovanni’s long time friend Vortek was put on trail, Vortek was accused of assisting the Maquis during the Dominion War. Giovanni opted to defend his old friend, it had been 18 years since he finished training at Starfleet Academy and Giovanni finally put his JAG training to use. All the evidence against Vortek was circumstantial Giovanni used that to his advantage, luckily Giovanni won the trail. Alas while he was celebrating his victory was writing divorce papers, on January 12th, 2376 the divorce was finalized. Giovanni wasn’t affected too much by the divorce but he took a short leave from Starfleet to recuperate.
After a year of rest Giovanni returned to service for Starfleet, he made a slight career change by becoming a diplomatic officer; Giovanni was assigned to the Federation Embassy on Andoria. On Andoria he stayed with his mother, who worked as a teacher at the Andorian School of Art, the cold weather on Andoria was hard to get used to but he eventually got used to it. At the start of 2383 Giovanni began to miss being in space he wanted to return to space, on a starship or Starbase it didn’t matter. He sent in a request to Starfleet
